Saturday, March 14 from 10:00–11:30 AM
Extended exploration with conversation, insight, and a few surprises
The longest recorded conversation Jesus has in the Gospels is with a woman whose name we do not know. For centuries, she has been flattened into a cautionary tale. But if we slow down and read John 4 carefully, a different picture begins to emerge. She is perceptive. Theologically engaged. Honest. Brave. By the end of the story, she becomes the first person in John’s Gospel to bring an entire community to meet Jesus.
So who was she, really?
And what have we missed?
A Deep Well is a guided scripture exploration designed for the biblically curious. Together, we will read this story closely, notice what is actually present in the text, and question the assumptions we have inherited. We will pay attention to the social tensions in the story, the theological depth of the conversation, and the quiet way faith begins to spread from one ordinary encounter.
