<image:caption>13 In the middle of the lampstands, I saw someone who looked like the Human One. He wore a robe that stretched down to his feet, and he had a gold sash around his chest. 14 His head and hair were white as white wool—like snow—and his eyes were like a fiery flame. 15 His feet were his feet were like burnished bronze, refined as in a furnace, and his voice sounded like rushing water. 16 He held seven stars in his right hand, and from his mouth came a sharp, two-edged sword. His appearance was like the sun shining with all its power.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog & Weekly Devotions - Keeping Familiar in the Foreign</image:title>
<image:caption>I kept thinking of those who immigrated from Europe, where there are no trees, and how they would have felt in this swampy jungle. I’m in awe of the towering cedars and the underbrush palms. I was reminded of those who were forcibly immigrated through the slave trade and how they would have felt. Many who were brought for their expertise in rice growing would have been familiar with this climate - an experience completely different than that of my ancestors.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog & Weekly Devotions - Not Perfect JUST Forgiven? - Wesley affirms atonement is essential to God’s purposes for humanity, the missio Dei. In the fall of man, through Adam, did sin and death enter the world, as well as “pain, sickness, and a whole train of uneasy as well as unholy passions and tempers.”1 Wesley highlights the ways that God has used, even humanity’s worst mistakes, for good : “By the fall of Adam mankind in general have gained a capacity, first of being more holy and happy on earth; and secondly, of being more happy in heaven, than otherwise they could have been.”For Wesley, God’s plan for humanity, through Christ, was never just forgiveness. Christ’s mission was to reverse an endless cycle of suffering and separation of humanity from God. Christ offered not just forgiveness but also the possibility of holiness. Holiness leads to not just atonement but an invitation to participate in the missio Dei, God’s mission on earth.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog & Weekly Devotions - Wisdom Affirmations</image:title>
<image:caption>This week I wanted to share one of the classes I’ve taught. This one is affirmations based on the character of Widsom found in the Hebrew Bible. I’ve linked many of the resources I’ve used to craft this class in the text. If you find affirmations in the language of Wisdom helpful, Let me know! If you would like for me to teach this class to your small group, I’m scheduling for March-May currently. (if you want to skip to the activity, scroll all the way to the bottom) I also added a coloring page if you would like to include that in your reflection. -Rachel Fetters</image:caption>
