Easter Opening Prayer - John 20

Ever Present God,

You are found by those who seek you.

On that first Easter morning,

Mary came to mourn,

she rose early seeking to visit her beloved friend,

she knew exactly where to find Jesus.

But her beloved wasn’t where she expected.

On that first Easter morning,

Running to the tomb,

Peter and the Other Disciple see not a body,

But empty funeral wrappings.

One left confused, disoriented but,

One saw this sign as a work of the hand of God

And believed!

God, we ask that you fix our thoughts on you this morning.

Let us seek your works

Help us to see your intention for us

That we may both see and believe.
