Holy Feminine Praise- Call to Worship

Gathering/Worship Host: When God delivered the Israelites from Egypt the prophet Miriam offered drumming, dancing, and songs of praise. Mary, Mother of God, the Theotokos, raised her voice in praise to God after learning she would mother Their holy presence embodied into humanity. Please join me as we offer our voices to their songs.  

One: I will sing to Adonai, for an overflowing victory! My soul proclaims the greatness of God, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior for God has looked with favor on this lowly servant.  From this day all generations will call me blessed:  the Almighty has done great things for me,  and holy is God’s Name.  

Many:  God is my strength and my power; God has become my salvation.  

One: God has mercy on those who are in awe - in every generation.  God has shown the strength of their arm; God has scattered the pride in their conceit.  

Many: This is my God, whom I will praise, the God of my ancestors, whom I will acclaim.  

One: God has cast down the mighty from their thrones,  and has lifted up the lowly.  God has filled the hungry with good things,  and the rich sent away empty.  

Many: Your strong hand, O God, is dominant in power; your strong hand, O God, shatters the enemy!  

One: Adonai has come to the help of Israel, for God remembered the promise of mercy,  the promise God made to our ancestors,  to Abraham, Rebecca, Joseph, and their children forever.  

Many: Sing to  our God for an overflowing victory! The one God will rule forever and always.
