Opening Prayer for True Discipleship

We do love you, Lord,

You taught us how to love.

You’ve called us to follow you,

To do your work,

To be your disciples.

God, you created us,

you understand that we can be hard-headed.

Just as Jesus taught his first disciples,

Teach us to be the helpers you need

for your Kingdom.

We love you, Lord,

We seek your formation,

Take our lives and our worship this morning as a token of our love for you.

Shape us and form us and make us, O God.
