Welcome!

I’m Rachel Fetters. I’m a pastor who believes our real lives matter to our faith.

At Sacred Narratives, we read the Bible as a conversation between ancient wisdom and your modern journey. Not something distant but a conversation. The stories in the Bible were lived before they were written. They carry real people, real decisions, real moments of risk, clarity, and change.

When we read them that way, something opens up.

In this class, we’re going to slow down and stay with one story—the woman at the well in John 4. We’ll follow the conversation as it unfolds, notice what’s actually happening, and pay attention to what we’ve been taught to assume along the way.

We’ll look at the context, the tension, and the back-and-forth. We won’t stop at the well. We’ll follow what happens next—into the town, into the community, and into the tradition that remembers her as Saint Photini.

This isn’t just about understanding her story.

We’re going to bring our own lives into it. The questions you carry. The moments where something clicked for you—or didn’t. The places where you’re still figuring things out.

Faith isn’t just about what we believe. It’s about what we do with what we know.

So this is an invitation to read a little differently. To stay curious. To see what happens when you let the story meet you where you actually are.
